Backend Engineer (Node.js / Edge)

Help us build the infrastructure behind Infinity Gems — real-time collaboration, asset pipelines, and AI-assisted features running at the edge.

About the Role

You’ll architect and build the backend systems that power Infinity Gems — from real-time collaboration features to AI-driven asset processing. We run at the edge where possible, and you’ll help us push the boundaries of what’s achievable in serverless and edge computing environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build APIs and microservices using Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Implement real-time features using WebSockets or WebRTC.
  • Integrate AI/ML models into our asset analysis and suggestion pipeline.
  • Own deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization for backend services.

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of backend engineering experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and API design.
  • Experience with edge runtimes (Cloudflare Workers, Deno Deploy, or similar).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML APIs (OpenAI, Replicate, or similar).
  • Bonus: experience with media processing pipelines (FFmpeg, WASM).
